Kevin Hobbs is an entrepreneur and expert in the blockchain and cryptocurrency space. As CEO of Vanbex Group, Kevin’s mission is to further the education and adoption of blockchain, DLT, and Smart Contract technology into everyday real world applications.
With over a decade of management experience, Kevin Hobbs is a strategic thinker with a proactive, creative and collaborative approach. His colleagues look to him as a leader and team player with extensive knowledge in B2B and B2C.
Kevin’s journey to CEO began in 2001 as a student at Dalhousie University in Halifax where he studied business administration and management. In 2005, he became a day trader for Swift Trade in Vancouver, which eventually led to a subsequent role as Vice President of Sales and Marketing at DealSoftware.com.
In 2015, Kevin Hobbs returned to the corporate trading world when he accepted a position with FIRMA Foreign Exchange, one of the world’s leading foreign exchange brokers. In this role, he was responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with small to large organizations, as well as responsible for the sale of foreign currency to clients with respect to relationship management.
Realizing the potential for growth in the blockchain industry and wanting to contribute, Kevin became the CEO of Vanbex Group in October 2015. Vanbex is a company that has evolved from a strategic communications firm into a consultancy laboratory, leading ideas to launch and helping established companies and startups alike harness emerging technology for a changing world. Since his appointment to CEO, Vanbex Group has grown to become one of the largest blockchain companies in North America.
As an expert in the blockchain community, Kevin is regularly invited to speak at conferences in the blockchain and financial technology industries.
Outside of his work at Vanbex Group, Kevin Hobbs spends time giving back to charities like the United Way, Ronald McDonald house and Big Brothers, and The Union Gospel Mission, among others. He also created Vanbex Cares, “a Charitable Organization” to adapt new blockchain & smart contract technology to help make charitable giving more transparent and efficient.
